Food Lion at 1130 Freeway Drive, Reidsville, North Carolina.

I've been shopping here for almost 6 years now. Not once have I ever had a bad experience. Not until this last Friday (3-31-17). I went there to purchase items to make beef stew. Upon looking at their meat section, I see what's listed at their "manager special" meats. I saw one package that was MORE than brown. At least an inch around the meat it was white, grey and green, with the center beyond brown. Now see, in my opinion, THAT is un-cookable! That shouldn't have been on the shelf. When I notified one of the managers assisting with stocking the shelves, he told me they sell meat at a lower price when it starts to turn brown. That package was beyond it! (Which I told him) He looked at me as if I didn't know what I was talking about. (He's around 6'. Bulky build. Dark brown to near black hair.) I have SOME sense as to what I am talking about. I have a friend that served in the military with my husband and retired after 25 years of service. Who has been a chef instructor at Fayetteville TCC for years. His chief thing is meats. What to look for, how to cook/bake/broil/grill. That meat I found, was beyond tainted. I wouldn't feed to anyone in my family, not even animals! Now, this isn't the first time I've spotted their meats being a near brown before. But never like that! And for that man to sit there and tell me it was cookable made me quite disappointed! I left the meat section, picked up a couple of other items, and there it sat. That same package. Ever heard of botulism?
